Many women know that plastic surgery is not just about boob jobs or nose jobs, but can also be about things ‘down there’, with some feeling embarrassed about some element of their appearance around the genital area.
This is a tricky issue, of course; many will say that it doesn’t matter very much, as men will not be so fussy about the exact shape of things down there if they are happy with a lady’s general appearance and other aspects of a relationship.
However, for many women the appearance of this part of their anatomy can be a source of significant embarrassment and self-consciousness, and there may be other issues too.
Since such negative thoughts can hold women back from fully and confidently expressing themselves, it can be helpful to know what options exist. Many procedures concern the labia or clitoral hood, but there is also the possibility of a mons reduction, also known as a monsplasty.
The mons pubis is, of course, as natural as any other part of the female anatomy. But for some women the mound is excessive and this has more than a negative aesthetic effect.
Just as importantly, excess skin and fat can produce a range of problems such as causing rashes and infections, or produces pressure that makes urination difficult. The operation will remove the extra fat and skin.
It is not, however, the same as liposuction. Firstly, this is because the need for this procedure does not arise from simply putting on excess weight. In fact, the area can look worse after a loss of weight. Maternity can also cause a problem, pushing the body out of shape in a way that is not easily recovered.
Secondly, with a liposuction procedure it is just fat that is removed. However, with a monsplasty it is skin too. This can leave some scarring and it will take a few weeks of aftercare to recover.
Once done, however, you will not only look better in that area, but feel some great benefits, with everything functioning well and free of rashes and infection. It may not be a glamorous procedure, but it can do a lot of good.
